Has anyone here encountered parents that feel obligated to provide advanced degrees for adult children when it involves significant financial stress? In the past year or so I've dated three people (mid 50's) that made a commitment to pay for advanced degrees for one or more children - often involving study abroad. All three are professionals with a solid income that are full funding masters programs for adult chidren that aren't working/contributing and all have signifcantly subjugated their own life goals to do so.
Anyone else noticed this? Not judging, but wondering if this is a "thing"/
