Is there historical (daily?) weather data for all the regions in the world?

There is a python package called workalendar. For example, it only requires two inputs. One would be region (e.g. US, US-MA, CA-BC, UK, CH, etc.), and the other would be dates. Then, it returns all the holiday dates and holiday names. (As a side note, it also does future dates)
I was wondering if there is something as convenient as that. Output of coordinates/location and weather. The weather can be anything detailed from meteorological statistics to simple 'sunny' or something.
