I'm searching for an app where I can both have database/spreadsheet like input fields combined with the ability to take handwritten notes (ideally on an iPad). I've tested more apps than I can count and I fear what I'm looking for simply doesn't exist. So far Apple's Numbers has come the closest to this but it has two big caviates: (1) it does some weird smoothing to drawing which is hurting the readability of handwriting & (2) when there are colapsable rows it displaces handwritten notes and it doesn't always restore them to the original position which leaves a mess. Please leave a comment below if you have thoughts and ideas of ways to combine handwritten notes with data input.
Apps that can do both but lack in handwritten note capabilities: - Apple Numbers - Microsoft Excel
Database/Spreadsheet apps but no handwritten notes: - Airtable - Google Sheets - Notion - Smartsheets
Good for handwritten notes but not for database/spreadsheet functionality: - Apple Notes - Evernote - GoodNotes - Google Keep - Microsoft Onenote - Nebo - Notability - Noteshelf (personal favorite)
