Post Body

So I have acquired a Mac Mini and wanted to set up about 8 drives as a backup to my Hack server.

I Have the following models that I am considering And wanted to get a consensus which would be the better pick.

Mercury Elite Pro Quad : USB-C

Akitio Thunder2 Quad : Thunderbolt 2

ThunderBay 4 : Thunderbolt 2

ThunderBay 4 : Thunderbolt 3 (with display port)

TR-004 : USB-C

Thunderbolt would be great but not sure if the 8 Spinners I'll be using would be able to saturate 1.3 Gb/s. Daisy chaining would be great. Price not so...

Is USB 3/3.1 enough bandwidth for 6-8TB hard drives? Is USB stable enough now? Heard a lot of people with disconnects with Mediasonics and failures with Sans Digital.

Let me know what you think.
