Members of r/DarlingInTheFranxx, The Eo To Coalition, The Union of Ichibros, and all other factions. I come to you today not with a declaration of war, but with a plea for peace.
As you may or may not know, our subreddit has been in a heavy flame war recently. Where people who were brothers and sisters in arms now tear each other apart on the battlefield. This war has taken it’s toll on our subreddit. It has torn our fandom in half, It has sent our most radical members attacking the writers, and it has forced the mods to take drastic measures to stop this war.
Yet it does not have to be this way. Could we have acted better when episode 14 came out? Certainly. Could we have prevented this war, and all it’s devastating effects if things were different? Of course. But those thoughts were all thoughts of the past, and as the idiom says, “There is no point crying over spilt milk.” Instead, we need to stop thinking in terms of “we could have”, and starting thinking “we should do.”
As the week drags on with no end in sight, more and more people are getting sick of this war. Small messages of resistance are showing up in flairs, with some commenting and trying to settle the peace. But yet these efforts are not enough! Unless the peacekeepers make a stand and double down on our efforts this war will continue. Unless the peacekeepers unite and work together this war will continue to wreak havoc on our subreddit. The war will continue leaving a path of destruction in it’s wake.
Do you want to stop this war and watch episode 15 as one united fandom? Do you think we deserve to be able to enjoy whichever girl we beleive is best girl, regardless of what others beleive? Do you want to end this war, and start sowing the seeds of peace for the future?
And thus I end my speech with my plea to end this war. Things were not always this way. They should not always be this way. They don't have to be this way.
