Messed up the wedding, did I miss anything?

I think I glitched. I killed the brides and corpses when i went into the house everything was locked. I read that this is a glitch or something, Anywho, got stuck couldn't leave at all died at night. Lost most my items.
Did i miss anything important? also why is this glitch how did I trigger it?
