18 Inch War
This war rages like no other
The distance is so short
Yet a billion miles apart
This war is of logic
This war is of emotion
Between the mind and the heart
The hearts wants a love
To feel deep inside
To reach out and wrap her in
The Mind says to let go
She is not yours
You’re not good enough to win
Each side sends it volley
With only pain as a result
One that has indelible scars
As I bleed for my love
My inner torment
Stretches across the stars
If I were more
Than what I am
Would that ignite loves fire?
If my heart beat stronger
If I were a better man
Would I obtain what I desire?
As the doubts mill around
Inside my heart and mind
I wonder of what use I am for
The battle is my own Armageddon
At least one side will die
Through my 18 Inch War
