So Darktide's main hub is basically just a swarm of random people who are waiting for their game. Sounds nice on paper- but I'd much rather have the keep back from Vermintide.
The reason for this is that it's much easier to connect with people if the party isn't broken up every 15 minutes.
In Vermintide 2 I'd regularly chat with people, give eachother advice on playstyles, and just have a good time in general. Now this is confined to in-game only, and when the game ends the party is broken up again. Where in Vermintide you'd have to leave manually if you wanted to swap parties- in Darktide the team has to manually decide to want to stay. This is a barrier 90% of players won't cross, even if the game went flawlessly.
Even if you don't add people, if you play a couple games with the same people you get used to their playstyle a bit, and can adjust your own to maximize team efficiency.
It's not a dealbreaker, it's just something that I feel I miss a bit and I suspect I will miss it more as I go up in difficulties.
