Haven't played since February! What have I missed?

Hi everyone, I played Darktide when it first came out and had a lot of fun even with all the bugs and just played myself out as the game was too barebones in the beginning.
With the new updates, what have I missed? Is the game much different than what it was? Will my max level veteran be lost or skills reset?
