So I've completely fallen in love with dark souls and bloodborne. A good friend of mine has very similar tastes in a lot of things and we love to share things were passionate about so I really wanted him to experience these games.
Unfortunately, he only has an Xbox One so DaS1 and bloodborne aren't an option so I bought him SotFS as a Christmas gift. He's a busy guy so he just got around to playing it today. I got this text from him: "Dude I've been playing Dark Souls for 3 hours and I hate it. It's just not fun."
I laughed when I read it because I know this is a very normal first reaction. I just hope he sticks with it. Poor guy didn't even make it to Majula.
I've issued him a challenge to play it until he beats the first boss. If he still hates it I'll never mention it again. I don't want to press it too much because I don't want to make him hate hearing about it. But I want to encourage him to keep going because I really do think he'll love it.
Any ideas of how to be helpful but not overbearing?
