Need I say more? This is the worst area of any souls game I’ve played. Only way I made it through was dieing so many times that enemies stopped respawning.
I’m playing as a caster so don’t have the stats for a bow (at least not the ones I’ve found). Every FromSoft I’ve played has a poison swamp area, but Shrine of Amana is worse.
At least in the poison swamps, the enemies are typically slow (or move at your pace) and hardly anyone has projectiles. Here most of the enemies have HOMING projectiles, and the highly aggressive melee guys can SPRINT through the water somehow.
If they don’t get, you the NPC invader might, and if he doesn’t get you, the most lethal enemy in the series is definitely going to get you more than once in this area — Talkin about gravity
I’m glad I’m past it but that area just isn’t fun at all
Edit: it’s cool that y’all are defending it, but it still sucks haha
Edit: Ok all y’all GiT GuD dudes need to chill tf out. I wasn’t saying that the area is too difficult. I’m saying that it’s poorly designed. Aside from a a couple of visuals and that weird giant mushroom, the area isn’t even that interesting. There are definitely more difficult areas in the series, but most of those area have more going for it than Shrine of Amana.
Besides, it’s a game that’s meant to deliver different experiences for different people. For instance, I barely struggled with Manus in DS1, but moonlight Butterfly ducked me up cuz I found it way too early in my run and refused to walk away.
