Dark Souls II is my fourth FromSoftware game (after Elden Ring, DS1, and DS3), so after 500 hours of playing their games, I figured that I had a pretty good grasp on the franchise’s mechanics. Turns out I was a bit too confident lol
I wanted to play DS2 without looking at any guides (I’ve used them while playing previous games, but this time around I was shooting for a somewhat blind playthrough), so of course I had no idea about the importance of ADP.
On multiple occasions, I’d noticed how slow my character was when using Estus, and up until recently I’d dismissed it as part of the game’s mechanics. After beating the Throne Watchers and finally checking online for information about the endgame options, I discovered the error of my ways. Safe to say, my character is in a much better position to defeat Nashandra than when the day started 💀
