How to incorporate aesthetic morals into fashion design?
Post Body

"Dark Academia makes the concept of elitist education accessible to all." - An excerpt from my notes on dark academia.

I'm trying to design dark academia fashion for my portfolio. While reading up on the subculture I thought zerowaste pattern making would add the values of dark academia being easily accessible but that's more grey academia but I hate grey so I'm saying it's dark academia. Anyways, most zerowaste pattern making (which is easier to start then the thing with the dress that turns into other dresses which btw I'm doing men's fashion only for my portfolio), is more asian style clothing from my research so could that include Death Note as dark academia and seeking inspiration from it? Is this valid? Is the other designers or anime that is dark academia if I'm gonna dive into the Asian fashion scene I want some media or theme to help seek inspiration off of like books, movies and tv shows. Is that too costumy?
