I just finished the series and I spent most of the final season disappointed. The major questions set up in Seasons 1 and 2:

1. What the heck is happening with those boys in the machine?
2. How does Jonah turn into Adam?
3. What becomes of Ulrich?

and I'm sure a few more, become completely abandoned apart from some throw-off lines. We hear that Adam was trying to plug some holes or something like that, but it's never quite explained and in S1, we're led to believe those were time travel prototypes. By Season 3, it was all planned out.

We get one scene where one minute Jonah is middle-aged Jonah and the next scene he's Adam and kills his mom. This was the main journey they set up but never really pay off. In S2, we see Jonah learn that he's the one that kidnaps Mikkel, essentially. This is crazy to him. We never see the journey of how he gets to that point (like we see the journey of innocent Martha watching Jonah getting shot to murder Martha). We also are robbed of the S1 moment that middle aged Jonah leaves Jonah trapped in the bunker with the chair. We earned a scene where Eva sends Jonah on a mission, he ends up going down into the bunker to discover...his teen self locked in the room and we see why he didn't let him out.

Ulrich kinda shows up in S3, but there's no payoff to his plot. Other than Helge's ear/eye, what did his entire plot line really accomplish?

I'm sure I missed a bunch of subtleties, but instead of shoehorning an entire second and third world into a single season, I would have loved to just see some satisfying payoffs to the questions of S1 and S2 and then a cool break the cycle final episode. Anyone else on board with THAT season 3?
