My SO and I finished the series last night. We watched the show kind of haphazardly (e.g. binging 5 episodes one night and then only coming back weeks later etc.), and coupled with my already difficulty keeping track of everything, I missed a few obvious things that I wanted some clarification on.

1. what was the point/ reason for the kidnapping of Yasin and Eric? was it just to test the machine or was there something else more pivotal to the plot that I missed?
2. At the end of season 1, the dark cloud forms above the plant and the lights flicker. Regina and Aleksander get out of their car and watch it. Is this ever mentioned again? Do they just move on as if nothing happened or what happened to the world? I know this one must be super obvious.
3. What exactly was special about Claudia that she broke the loop? I would think her seeing Adam at the end should just be something that had already happened rather than a first time event?
