With the first election now over and our officeholders determined, I'd like to officially reveal what some Danzilonans and I have been working on: the foundation of the newest political party in Danzilonan history, the Socialist Party of Danzilona (or SPD because it's too perfect of an initialism).

Although normal modes of production don't really exist on Civ (wage labour, etc.), we still wanted to come together to coordinate policy that would establish an economy with more organised and centralised planning that everyone can get involved in! We hope to also greatly expand public spaces and buildings, set up cooperatives centred around the production of a specific necessity (an XP cooperative, for example), promote Danzilonan culture, and overall improve our self-sufficiency so the FDR is a force to be reckoned with. With our members Gant and Lowtuff in office for July, we've also set some specific goals we'd like to achieve this month, including the zoning and construction of the public factory building, newfriend apartments, and the Grand Central Station, helping those who've gathered the materials get a shop chest up for an XP cooperative, and establishing a monthly "D3U Day" where we ask all Danzilonans to pitch in for a specific public project.

While all of this doesn't require a political party to get done, much like the D3U, we believe that the establishment of one will help better coordinate specific actions which, coupled with nominating candidates to political offices, further empower us as workers to get things done.
