[Proposed Addendum] Dereliction Policy and Article 11

Post Body

So derelict and abandoned buildings have become a hot topic in town recently, and here's my plan to better our current system for dereliction.

If you haven't yet, go read Article 11 in the Constitution. My Addendum will likely wipe everything from it, except Article 11.1. My proposed Addendum is as follows:

11.2: As often as they feel it is needed, an Infrastructure Representative will post an album of screenshots taken of supposedly derelict properties slated for re-purposing, repair, or demolition. This album will be posted in a thread titled [48-Hour Warning Thread]. To avoid having your house appear in a Warning Thread, there are several things you can do, such as:

11.2.1: Place a sign in front of your house with your username and the last day you logged in. Any house with a sign less than 4 weeks old is safe from Dereliction.

11.2.2: Stay at least minimally active on the server or the sub-reddit so that others can vouch for you.

11.2.3: Make a post on the sub-reddit when you know you're going to be inactive for a very long time as a heads up or when you're leaving the server forever, preferably with what you'd like to have happen to your plot while you're gone.

11.3: If anyone comments in the 48-Hour Warning Thread with a legitimate claim to a supposedly derelict property, the property is removed from the list.

11.4: All other properties that are not spoken for before 48 hours fall under Article 11.5 (see below).

Now here's where Article 11.5 from the Constitution comes in:

It reads:

11.5: The Infrastructure Representatives will then post a lone screenshot of the property with the tagline of [Derelict] and the name of the property with photographic evidence. (I want to remove the next part) Members of the populace will then have 24 hours to claim the land as their own or say it should be preserved as publicly accessible land.

Then the rest of Article 15 reads as follows, and I think it can be kept as such:

11.5.1: If most replies claim it is should be opened to the public, it will be left alone and another post will follow asking for input on what purpose it should serve.

11.5.2: If 2 or more replies ask to be granted the land, a government controlled auction for the land will take place. The auction is governed by NDZ ruling, and the proceeds from the auction will be deposited into the treasury or, treasury not available, the reserves of an NDZ official.

11.5.3: Should nobody object in the allotted time, the plot will be condemned and demolished at the earliest possible convenience by the town's citizens/occupants. The land will then become another plot, which can be given to new players or old.

I think that's everything.

Thanks for reading my wall of text! :D
