Hi guys, Infrastrucutre Rep for April here. So as I was putting up housing numbers all over the town yesterday I noticed something that I thought I'd share with you all.
More than a few roads only have 2 or 3 houses on them. And that's not just the outlying roads. 2nd Street has 3 houses on it, and that road practically cuts right down the middle of NDZ.
What's going on? Well, for one almost every house touches at least two streets, some being completely surrounded with four roads on each side. A lot of houses face three streets, and even have doorways on all three sides. This makes it hard to know which address to give a house, do I go with the entrance on Main Street or the entrance on Parcel Street?
Another problem with having too many roads is it cuts down on building space. Sure the roads are only 4 blocks wide but when you add that up over how many roads there are in town it's quite a lot.
What should we do about it? I'm not advocating the removal of already existing roads. However, I'd like to give everyone a heads up when they're making new ones or new developments to the town that we don't need as many roads as you might think. Lonewolf's post a few days ago about the new plots was great because while adding 8 new plots, he only had to add one road.
So when you're thinking of making some new plots in town, remember this: We don't need to surround plots with roads, rather we need to surround roads with plots.
Thanks for reading! :D
