So I am a 38yr old man with no previous experience in dance. I have always wanted to learn dance after I watched a documentary film on Pina Bausch. finally this week I managed to go to two classes with two very different contemporary dance routines. One is Limon school of dance and the other is more modern dance style with a lot of floor work and musicality and room for improvisation. All of these are for beginners. The problem is I just LOVE both of them. They both have their pros and cons. I felt Limon technique is more foundational, teaching about body weight, poses while the modern contemporary style was more free flowing. Also the crowd in the modern one were more younger. The music played in Limon style was mostly drum and electronic which I actually liked. The music for the second class was more pop. Which one should I go for ? I feel like I should do both but I am scared whether i will get tired or not.
