I've always loved dance and I did a bit of cheer and gymnastics when I was 10/11, although that was cut short by covid then lack of motivation.
I really want to do dance or gym but people my age are usually at very high levels as they've been doing it for years- I would feel awkward being the only beginner.
People always say the "it's never too late to start" shit but lets be realistic for a second here. I have lost ALL my flexibility. I feel like it's unlikely for me to ever be as flexible as I used to be.
I'm assuming this subreddit is full of professional dancers, or people who are experienced, so in your opinion- would I realistically be able to get to the same level as people who have been dancing/doing gym since they were little kids?
Best age to start dancing is five. Second-best age to start dancing is now.
To give you a no-bullshit answer: You're almost certainly still growing so a fair bit can be regained and retained well in excess of what someone in their 20s would experience. You already have a solid basis so it's not like you'd be starting from zero.
Gold medalist pro levels aren't gonna be in the cards but gold medalist pro level dancers have even less of a life than League of Legends pros. You pretty much just dance work out and watch your diet.
