So recently I was watching through Community for the millionth time (amazing show but that's a topic for another day) and it suddenly hit me how much the antics of Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase's character) reminds me of Greg Cote. All the attempts to be cool among the study group reminded me of Greg's constant attempts to relate to modern times but always bringing up examples from way, way back. Jeff shooting down Pierce throughout the show felt like a perfect example of Dan shooting down Greg when he coughs into the mic or goes off on random tangents or kills the show. If anyone hasn't seen Community, Google some Pierce clips and tell me if you agree.
