Job offer and PGWP question

Hey guys, I have a question regarding the PGWP. I recently got a job offer for June and I will graduate in May. They asked me for a work permit and I said I currently hold a student visa and immediately after my graduation I will apply for PGWP. I was wondering can I work while I am waiting for that and is there any chance that my employer won’t accept this way?
