Small edit made for clarification
Hey everyone! I just got my Overcover from Dakimakuri in the mail today, so I figured I'd do a review of it for those who are interested.
Dakimakuri is a new U.S.-based doujin dakimakura circle that sells worldwide. They made a post about their website launching earlier this month (November), so if you haven't seen it yet, you can learn more there and/or on their website. I checked out their website after seeing that post, and what really caught my eye was their Overcover, which is a cover meant to temporarily cover 160cm x 50cm body pillows (and only those dimensions) that have covers on them that you'd rather not have other people seeing instead of switching covers out or hiding the body pillow entirely. As stated on the website's FAQ page, their covers are all 2WT and "printed in China using Mutoh printers imported from Japan."
The Overcover in particular stood out to me because the zipper for it runs along the longer side instead of the usual smaller side, which makes it quick and easy to put on (took me only a minute). Another major plus, which ultimately led to me deciding to buy it a week ago, is that the cover is machine-washable (see here for their washing instructions for their covers). My usual cover has to be hand-washed and hung to dry for hours, which is honestly a huge pain, so I decided to replace it with Dakimakuri's Overcover to save me the hassle of dealing with that and taking 20 minutes of trying to put on my first cover when I can simply machine-wash the Overcover and only take a minute to put it on my body pillow.
As I mentioned previously, I got my own Overcover (Navy Blue) in the mail today, and so far I'm liking it. I can't personally speak to comparisons of the fabric since I don't know too much about that stuff, but it looks/feels fine and it's stretchable. There's a few extra inches of fabric on one end, so there's more than enough room for it to fit on your body pillow. It'll honestly be huge for 150cm x 50cm body pillows, so I wouldn't recommend getting one for body pillows of those dimensions unless they decide to offer that option in the future or you don't care about that. The packaging was good and featured a picture of each of their mascots on either side along with information about the cover (fabric info., dimensions, legal stuff, and basic washing info.). When I removed the Overcover from the packaging, I discovered that there were also two free stickers of one of the mascots (chibi version) and a free postcard and envelope. The postcard has a picture of the same mascot (not chibi) featured on the stickers on one side, with a stylized background on the backside and a section for writing a message.
Finally, for those who are interested, below are some pictures (Imgur). Also, my body pillow is a DHR6000 (newer one) and has a custom-size Allergy Cover from Royal Pillow on it underneath the Overcover.
