Men, some of you will curse me for this but daughter has been a great sleeper since she was 2 months old.
2 years later, still a great sleeper but the road there is sometimes 3 hours long. I know itβs our fault for not establishing a better routine so Iβm looking for advise. Current routine for 730 hrs time: 630: wind down and offer snack 7:00: in PJs 715: head upstairs into parents room where we will read a few books and have her lay in sleep sack. 730: All lights off and books away. 800: After she falls asleep in our bed, the transfer process to her crib downstairs is always a gamble. If she wakes up, start over in bed.
Looking for your bedtime routine or any advise to change ours. Daughter #2 coming in November so we gotta get bed time to happening in her room.
Thanks
My kid (4yr) hates bedtime! And always made a big fuss about it, even got aggressive..
But then we just stoped saying it was night time..
After shower, we tell him to get in his PJs.. he says, "not nighty night" and we just say he's right, it's not nighty night.. but PJs are cozy.. and he agrees and put them on.
Then we say that it would be nice to read togheter in his his bed.. and he just go and pick a book and lay on his bed, and his mom follow him and reads to him. And he even get ta lay wherever, and however in his bed, until he just fall asleep..
Takes about 30 minutes from the point he lays down in bed.. and he sleeps all night..
compared to before, where we told him it was time to sleep.. back then it took about 3-4 hours in bed.. with screaming, flailing, punching, kicking, spitting.. and then he woke up 2 - 3 times per night, where he came in to us and was extreamly restless and moved around in our bed like a hurricane, and I moved him back to his bed..
So.. just focus on making a cozy storytime in her bed.. and try not to talk about sleep time..
