UPDATE: My garbage disposal won’t run… because it’s dead. Now what?
Post Body

As you can see here, it looks like my garbage disposal has met its untimely end. I even tried to manually rotate the motor. I did purchase a new disposal… but it won’t be here until Thursday. Oof.

Question time! 1. How do I clean out my nasty-ass pipes? 2. How do I dispose of the old disposal responsibly? 3. The new disposal doesn’t arrive until Thursday. Anything (besides running the water in the kitchen sink) I should avoid?

Finally want to give a heartfelt thank all the dads out here for helping me out with this issue; you the real MVPs. Please know that I totally plan to keep coming back here for home maintenance and repair issues, and maybe life advice as well. I fully expect more dad jokes next time (“Garbage disposals can’t run because they don’t have legs!” or something like that; I wouldn’t know because I’m not as cool as all of you).
