I've always had struggles with talking with the opposite sex and trying to show that I was interested in them. I know it sounds silly especially since I've been married in the past for 10 years, divorced 5 years with many failed relationships after. But, I did something I felt great about. I simply wrote my name and number on a receipt and gave it to her. I said "if you would like to get a coffee some time", smiled and walked out to my car feeling like a million bucks. Unfortunately, she never called and I did eventually see her again but told me that she was very sorry and that she didnt want me to think she was brushing me off. She let me know that there is company policy that they can't receive romantic gestures from customers and she had to rip up the receipt. It's completely valid but man is it a gut punch. I still feel proud of myself.
