For those of us unable to get out/obtain medication
Post Body

Not sure how many people are aware of this - apologies if this is stating the obvious but I expect for some of us this is the first time we've had to face the possibility of being housebound for an extended length of time.

You can get your pharmacy to deliver your medications. Pretty much all pharmacies do this for no charge. Mine has suspended having to sign for your meds too, so there's no contact needed.

If you can't get an OTC drug (paracetamol, calpol, cough syrup etc) because idiots have hoarded it all, your GP can and will prescribe it for you if needed. I was embarrassed to have to ask for paracetamol on prescription, but I take 4 - 8 a day and there's NONE on the shelves. Embarrassed because I quite happily pay 40p a pack and don't want to be costing the NHS more money at this time, but those of us who need it and can't get it didn't cause the problem.

If you're not registered with a chosen pharmacy do it now. As the majority of prescriptions are now sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy, make sure it's one that will deliver to you. If you're in a high risk group (like me) we're facing potentially months of being cooped up indoors; and making an outing, particularly if you're using public transport, to a place full of sick people, is definitely on the no no list.

As I said, sorry if this is stating the obvious or has been covered. I've seen a lot of posts where people can't buy Calpol for their kids and panicking (or its £20 or something) so thought this might be helpful 😀
