Too good to be true, 1 week from PIP appeal letter being received to getting decision, and why are they asking about my recent hospital stay?
Post Body

Posted my letter of appeal on 29th October, it was received by DWP today and they called me to ask some questions to clarify some points on the evidence I submitted (consultant and hospital letters, gp letter, social services home assessment report) mainly around my toilet needs, the main area where I should have been awarded points as I need a raised toilet seat and a rail to pull myself up , at the end of the call they said that the decision would be made today and that I would get a letter next week with the decision. I wasn't even expecting them to look at my appeal until the end of December, so I'm a bit surprised and a little suspicious.

I was previously awarded enhanced mobility and no daily living (1 point short) and am wondering if they are just rushing through appeals to clear the work before Christmas...has anyone else had an appeal assessed this quickly before? They also asked about a hospital stay I had in July, wanting me to confirm the dates. I was in for 20 days, but I'm not sure how this will affect my claim. I'm assuming that I won't be awarded anything for the time I was in hospital, but as I have already received a backdated amount of PIP for this time period will I have to pay this back? The money has already gone on the debts I owed whilst waiting for PIP, mainly payday loans which unfortunately I've had to turn to again to keep my head above water.
