In case anyone that could answer missed it - Can I report my expenses for my Universal Credit assessment, but still use the trading allowance on my self-assessment tax return?

Post Body

Things were going well, until they weren't. I've fallen into hard times and debt. On the Universal Credit assessment you have to report your expenses. However, I normally just use the trading allowance for my tax return. I think I read on an official website that the tax allowance doesn't have anything to do with Universal Credit. Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks
