Hi, I’m pretty new to the hacking scene. Currently what I am looking to do is transfer all of the DSiWare I have on my original DSi (currently unhacked) over to my New 3DS XL (also unhacked). However, my understanding is that doing this with the official Nintendo 3DS Transfer Tool wipes the games from your DSi, and also does not retain the save files for the games once they arrive on the 3DS. So my thought was I could have my cake and eat it too - hack my DSi to create a NAND backup of the system, run the official transfer tool to get the games on my 3DS, then restore the NAND backup on my DSi to get the games back on their original system with their original saves.

I guess my question is are there any problems with this plan? Can the official 3DS Transfer Tool still run just fine from a DSi that has been hacked? Does it pose any risk to the 3DS receiving the games (which I would like to leave unhacked)? To clarify, I was looking to use TWiLight Menu and dumpTool to perform the DSi backup. Thanks!
