About Me

Hey, I'm Bearboned. I've been away for a bit, but I'm here again. I'm a gay man from Canada, and I'm in my 30s. I fall into the bear enclosure at the gay zoo, meaning I'm more "traditionally masculine" (although I don't put much stock in that), bigger and hairy. I've got brown hair, a beard and green eyes, and I'm of average height and build (but I'm not all that interested in playing as myself).

I'm a big geek; I play indie TTRPGs, video and board games, I watch tons of movies (and some TV), and I read a lot of books and comics. All kinds, really, but I've always been a sucker for a good romance, especially between men. I also love writing and role-playing. I role-played online a lot while growing up, and I've discovered that combining my love of stories, telling a story with a partner, and hot sex between men produces pretty much the best thing ever, and that's why I'm here and what I'm looking for.

Why I'm Here and How I Do

I'm here because I love collaborative writing and role-playing, and I love stories about romance and sex between men. I'll occasionally do shorter, get-to-the-sex-already RPs, but what I'm generally looking for are long-term writing partnerships involving a lot of depth, character development, build-up and detail about relationships, and, yeah, hot sex between two (or more!) men who are into each other. Building a world together while doing that, or exploring an existing one, is icing on the cake.

Writing with a partner can be so exciting - and fucking hot. I love writing with someone who puts in some effort and has a respectable grasp of the English language, who isn’t afraid to push the story forward or in surprising directions, and in general isn’t just looking to rush to the blown loads. I do prefer to write with other men, but I'm open to discussion.I'm cool with playing in either third or first person. In an RP, I generally don’t mind if you want to extrapolate some of my character's actions or those of NPCs I've introduced for convenience's sake, but I probably won't do the same very often. I like it best when you play your character, and I play mine.

I prefer sticking with reddit messages, and I aim to send at least a paragraph (often more) in a response. I can usually reply at least once a day during weekdays, and I'm mostly available during Eastern business hours. Evenings and weekends are always up in the air, but more often than not I'm away from the keyboard.

I'll do my best to let you know if a response will be especially delayed or if my availability will radically change, and I'd appreciate the same. Communication's great - if something's not working for you, let me know and maybe we can make some adjustments. If things just aren't there, no worries or hard feelings. I do appreciate a quick message saying you're done, though. I'll do my best to let you know if I can't continue a chat or role-play, for whatever reason.

I'm also open to discuss sharing completed RPs or stories. A writing partner of mine once turned [a story we wrote together into an audiobook a few years back! If things are working out well, I'm usually open to continuing the RP past the initial hook-up and seeing where the story takes us, and getting to know my writing partners outside of our RPs, as well.

What I Like to Write About

I'm as happy developing the story between a man and the former mentor he fell for, unexpectedly reunited after years apart, as I am being stranded in a cabin in the mountains with a mysterious and sexy stranger I've rescued from a storm. I can play the post-apocalyptic scavenger who stumbles across another survivor seeking meaning after the end of the world, or the rough-around-the-edges protege to your established superhero - or even the villain seeking a new direction, and a chance to show the hero just how much he's changed. From illicit relationships with my boss, who might just happen to be captain of a starship or the city's premiere supernatural detective, to two lovers standing as the world's last hope in the face of a horror beyond our understanding, my interests are wide ranging, and there are many stories I'd love to play with.

In general, stories involving the seduction of a straight dude will need something extra to entice me, though. When there's an age difference between characters, I usually prefer to play the younger man. I've got a more complete list of what I'm into in the next section.
