Hi long time lurker here emboldened by a new account to actually ask a question or several I've wondered for a while.
Firstly I'd like to say I've picked up on the more obvious ones: Having kinks and Limits in your post and response to the post seem essential for a good post Leaving a writing sample in your post to give a gauge of setting, style and type of writing. Often a character description if such a thing is necessary.
When it comes to responses: Doing what the post asks Showing genuine interest and referencing specific parts Kinks again Character if requested/necessary
What I'm concerned with is more the minutiae and such
When unspecified Chat or DM?
In a continued RP how long a delay is appropriate before assuming they do not want to continue?
If using DM does subject matter? If so is anything good as long as it isn't generic?
If a person expresses interest then proceeds to not respond is it okay to press or does that mean they have lost interest?
In a post is there a format preferred? E.g Prompt, out of prompt talk, kinks, limits, misc?
Is 3rd or 1st person preferred?
How detailed must a prompt be? Is a premise enough or should it be more of a detailed idea?
Apologies If this seems overly specific it's just due to the type of person I am. I much prefer knowing even the silly details than being confused by them. Any and all help is appreciated, any other tips are welcome too!
