tldr; I’m stressed that my new dog won’t learn to like my young dog and I don’t know how to get this to work. This all happened today. How long will it take them to get used to each other?

My boyfriend and I have an Australian shepherd/boxer mix (6 months, Jude) and today we just got a chihuahua mix (could be mixed with dachshund? The name’s Bo) who is 3y 5m. Both are males, and Jude is not yet neutered.

Jude is very high energy, and wants to play with Bo. Bo is getting over an anxiety problem, but seems very calm and just follows you around.

Bo is straight up not having it when Jude is within 6in, and Jude is trying to get under and on top of Bo.

We’re just nervous someone will get hurt, and are semi apprehensive about this now. As I type, Jude is laying on the floor across the room with my boyfriend while Bo is laying on me, so I guess this is good?

I’ve never had 2 dogs at once, so this is new for me.
