Good day, ladies and gentlemen.
I'm not sure if I'm on the correct subreddit but I want to talk about the DNA data storage technology. I have been checking out what Microsoft Research and University of Washington have been working on regarding this matter and it looks to me like an absolute inevitability. A kilogram of DNA could fit all the data we've generated so far, meanwhile the silicon is getting more and more extinct. Talk about an urgent demand, it's a data crisis. And what's a better time than after a pandemic that led to an mRNA-based vaccine and tons of investment on the aforementioned R&D? If anybody has a comment on that regard, please let me know in the comments or talk to me in private if you'd like to have a one-to-one conversation.
