Curious to hear what educated minds with experience have to say.

Post Body

I’ve had an abstract curiosity about drugs ever since I tried weed, recently I moved to a large city where I have access to a lot more. I’ve done weed (been smoking for about 5 years) and mushrooms (first trip roughly 8 months ago). And I’ve done way too many mushrooms a few times. I plan to try LSD early next year with some friends and a trip sitter. DMT has been on my list for a long time, as an experience I’d like to have. I’m much better at tripping now but originally I can remember when I took way too much psilocybin I would feel like I was losing my mind and just wanted it to stop. Again much better now even at higher doses but I understand these are not the same. I have a strong connection to myself and have spent years building my mental fortitude for business and personal endeavors. That’s why it can be especially scary when I lose my sense of self. I don’t want to try dmt and come back radically changed. Can I experience dmt in a way where I understand it is simply a drug and I can use it responsibly and respectfully as a substance not as a spiritual or life defining experience. My question comes from browsing both this subreddit as well as r/salvia just to understand people’s experiences and how it affects people in general. (I will not be trying salvia) The way people talk in this subreddit makes me curious.
