Precursor songs

Anyone on here old enough to remember some of the precursor songs that Dave would only play live until he eventually fixed them up or changed them and they became hits. I’m thinking of #36 (eventually became Everyday, but the original version was about Chris Hani, an activist in South Africa who was assassinated) and Leave Me Praying (became Don’t Drink the Water). Any others people remember?
