I was planning on having Tymora speak to my party members through an Avatar of some sort, where Tymora was not "physically" there but mentally present though her human avatar. i.e. for a rescue of sorts. I had planned for her to send mental messages asking for the hero's to rescue her from her hiding place, and search a mansion of deadly monsters and tricks to find her. Partly as a test of their worth for the deitys gifts, but also to limit the capabilities of the avatar. She was intended for information and gifts related to their quest, but not to steamroll the enemies for them.
I thought it was cool, but I digress, I was trying to create the quest and my co dm told me it was a dumb idea and not to underestimate the goddess, that she would be able to just magically do anything to save her avatar so to skip it and just give them someone at a shirne to talk to, but that feels lame and a cop out.
Thoughts ?
