Just a little quick skill contest that I made to resolve certain encounters without having to worry about players' real-life skills, or lack thereof... ;)

The Riddle of The Sphinx

This mini-game can be used for contests of wits and riddles, such as might be presented in an encounter with a Sphinx...

Any number of teams may compete simultaneously, and each team may have as many participants as desired. (It doesn't necessarily have to be fair!)

1) Each contestant on each team makes a series of 5 rolls: 1 check each of Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature, and Religion.

2) Add each of the corresponding category scores together on each side to obtain the 5 team scores.

3) Now, simply compare the 5 team scores... best 3 of 5 wins the contest!

*Note: In the event of a tie in any category, re-roll the tied scores for that category only.
