I used Wonderdraft for awhile, but I'm starting to detest it (I'm not sure how custom asset importing works (Like if I hand drew and colored a shield icon as a symbol I'd like to import)).

(No links, only suggestions by name please) Be this the case I'm looking for recommendations for other map making programs (Photoshop is too expensive and heck to that membership thing they're doing) that I can try out. If you can, please comment the name of the program you recommend, and why you like it!

I'm sure this asking for too much/unrealistic expectations but my ideal map making program is the kind that you can easily make simple or complex maps with as needed.
