Pros and Cons of allowing one of my PCs to be infected with lycanthropy?

Post Body

My PCs (currently level 5, campaign probably won't go past level 13) are about to open up an optional encounter with some lycanthropes. The party druid (circle of land) is the only character that could plausibly be infected. So, as title, what are the Pros/Cons of allowing a PC to "catch" lycanthropy in y'all's experience? I know it'd make them much more resilient in combat, but am I missing anything else?
