There are so many dang spells in D&D, and as a DM I have a hard time understanding spell-casting, it's brain-melting for me. I have far too many questions, but I'll save it for a few.
I plan to ambush one of the players in the hold they are currently in, a lvl 10 Druid Warforged because they've been too safe and pure roleplay over 4 sessions (I blame myself and my players equally) is boring me too much (Thank you ADHD), and they split up in downtime too much who has dispel magic.
It's going to be specialized assassins, two or three melee, and one spellcaster, to cast a spell. Is there even a spell that muffles all noises in a confined space, say to prevent people outside the building or in adjacent rooms from hearing the commotion? Also, how would I circumvent the spammy mc spam of dispel? I've read dispel a few times, but I always forget the details....
Ugh I have a siren-wail of a headache, and I hope I understand what you peeps will have to say.
