So, I'm figuring out the overarching story, here's what I've got. The world as it is, is in constant flux between fire and ice. The creator god split itself into 7 parts and scattered them as an experiment in world creation. Fire and ice are two of them and they've been playing chess, building and destroying worlds because if it ever goes on for too long, the original being will come back, the experiment will end. (The world is in a constant state of apocalypse, cycling through one every couple hundred years)

This time, it's gone on longer than it ever has before, and there's starting to be signs that something greater may awaken...

So this god isn't necessarily Cthulhu, but there will be dreams and things that people will start seeing. But what other things can I do with the world that may hint that Sky-Daddy may be coming back to pick up his little shits?
