Help me come up with a BBEG for new campaign

So, as title suggests I need a new BBEG.

So far I know they need to be based in the shadow fell, and are trying to invade the material plane campaign setting.

The shadow fell itself is intruding into the material plane through a phenomenon known as ‘the gloom’ (think turning the material plane into a Barovia like state).

I need a BBEG, I’m thinking their motivation could be to find a relic or absorb some sort of primordial/celestial (?) power located in the material plane to ascend to god good. Not set on any of that though.
