Simplifying a wizard class

Post Body
Hey all, long time lurker, relatively new DM. I'm starting a new campaign with a party of almost entirely new players. One of my players is thinking about being a wizard, my only concern with this is how complicated playing a wizard can be for a new player. I'm wondering if you guys have any ideas or have done anything in your personal games to make the class a little more inviting to new players?
Edit:Thanks so much for all the advice, for those asking I'm thinking of starting everyone at lv 2
