Extending 1-min effects to 2?

Post Body

So I DM for a party of 6, which means battle can pretty often be 10 turns per round. Since each turn is abt 6 seconds, this usually means that when players cast spells/effects that last 1 minute, it will be over before it’s even their turn again, or before the affected enemy takes their turn. While this will sometimes create interesting problem solving opportunities, it more often is just kind of a bummer.

I was thinking about switching the rules so 1-min spells or effects last 1.5 min or 2min (this would be for NPCs as well as players obv, so they don’t just have this random leg up). Has anyone else done that/does that sound like it will cause any issues? I’m not always so good at anticipating balance issues like this so would appreciate feedback. Thanks!
