Hello, I’m planning a campaign that’s going to involve a huge conspiracy about the royal government of the kingdom my players are in. Most of the conspiracy involves shadowy mafia controlling the gov etc etc but I also want some really juicy royal secrets that will really justify the amount of secrecy the royal family&court is surrounded by. Basically I’m looking for the type of secret that is so terrible that one NPC who came upon it immediately drank a potion/ cast a spell to wipe it from her memory. I know this is kind of a weird question but can you help me come up with some really dark or crazy secrets that would justify that type of reaction? Just “royal family member X secretly killed royal family member Y” or something isn’t really going to cut it when players are regularly killing monsters & NPCs, ya know? (Ps Idk if this needs to be said but no sexual assault or anything similar as that would be far too upsetting for some of my players)
