My party is coming to the end of LMoP and will be heading into CoS at level 4-5. They still have yet to enter wave echo cave and the treasures it contains.
I am a bit apprehensive leaving "Lightbringer" ( 1 mace with extra 1d6 radiant damage to undead creatures) for them to find before starting Curse of Strahd because it seems like it would be a very powerful weapon to have in that campaign!
Does anyone have any suggestions for magical items I can use to replace the magical weapons (to maintain the challenge of CoS) but not have my party feel disappointed by the loot?
Edit: They missed out on the 1 Axe and I have styled the 1 Longsword found in the rebrands hideout as more if a master-crafted weapon instead of a magic one. I think not having magic weapons would play into the danger of CoS far more!
