Hi all.

So about 2 years ago I started DMing a campaign for my friends. Some had played before, some hadn't, but we all were keen to play and I though "Well screw it, I'll step up to the plate".

It went well! Generally everybody had a good time. I'd taught myself DMing via Matt Colville's Running the Game which was an incredible resource, but still learned quite a lot the hard way; by experimentation.

After the campaign ended one of my players (who has a longer history with D&D) decided to DM a campaign so that I could play instead for a while. Lo and behold he is legitimately fantastic at it. Everything is so immersive and thought out, the atmosphere is nailed every time and all the players love it. We're just approaching to the end of that campaign.

I'm going to DM next to give him a chance to play again as he did for me, but as I'm beginning to prep I'm realising how inadequate my content looks in comparison, ad that I just don't have the chops to pull it off like he does. That's fine for the other DM because he'll be happy to just be playing, but it feels wrong to put the other players through inferior content when they could be doing something amazing.

Imagine you start a band with your mates. You practice and you're pretty good, get booked a few gigs. All goes well for a while, then one day you're about to go on stage only to find the Rolling fucking Stones are playing before you. That's about how I feel right now, and I'm hoping somebody here has been in this situation or similar and can give me some advice?
