I'm the perennial GM of our Pathfinder group and I've only ever GMed homebrew campaigns. As a result, I've never *really* had to deal with an inadvertent PC death. All previous deaths have happened due to story reasons.
I'm running a fairly challenging campaign at the moment and I anticipate one or more PC deaths in the next combat. What do you do to help the dead feel included for the remaining duration of the session? The player I'm worried about has a few backup characters ready, but I don't want to make death feel cheap by letting him throw in a readymade character right off the bat. Advice?
