Hello everyone. I'm pretty new to DnD in general, only been doing it for a few months now, but I've decided to try DMing for some friends of mine and i'll be starting my first campaign in a few weeks. i was hoping everyone could give me some advice as i'm trying to decide on the big boss of my campaign and just generally get an idea of how long it can take for players to level up just so I have some idea of how to scale the campaign, if that makes any sense. we are going to be playing while i'm down at school, so that means about 7-8 months of a campaign. we plan to play weekly sessions about 3-4 hours at a time. What level would i typically expect the party to reach by the end of that time? Am i really overplanning/overthinking this so far in the future? What are your opinions on having the players start out at say level 3 to give a bit of a boost and skip those first few levels where characters cant do many cool things anyways? At any rate, any advice you could give would be much appreciated, as I'm slightly nervous about doing this, being as new as i am. Thank you in advance!
